Projects for children
One of the wonderful benefits of being part of a local school network is the collaborations and friendships which develop across the children through many activities we arrange.
Often involving joint visits to cultural venues and our neighbouring schools, these projects offer many opportunities.
Writing through Poetry – Autumn term
Pupils study a poem a week for throughout (4 weeks) before working on their own poem which they can submit to the competition. Maamulaha Poet Laureate and individual school’s Poets of the Year will be announced towards the end of the Autumn term.
The project, which runs annually, has four main aims:
- To develop pupils’ (schools’) enthusiasm and interest in poetry.
- To allow pupils and teachers to use and evaluate blogging as a tool for extension work and collaborative learning.
- To improve pupils’ literacy.
- To support collaboration between Maamulaha schools and pupils.

Writing through Art – Spring term
This 4 week project sees pupils study a different painting from the Kenwood House Art collection each week. Classes are invited to produce a piece of writing inspired by the painting studied each week.
The aim of the project is to:
- Develop pupil interest and understanding of art.
- Provide pupils with an opportunity to respond to art through writing.
- Increase their awareness of cultural opportunities within London.
- Explore how they might make use of web based resources.
- Provide pupils and teachers with an opportunity to work in a collaborative.

Joint sports competition
Three times per year (once a term) our schools get together to hold sports competitions across Football, Tag Rugby and Netball. Always fiercely fought, and with the utmost of manners, these tournaments allow our children the opportunity to mix and chat, while enjoying some friendly rivalry.

Climate Action
We’ve worked together with The Garden Classroom to deliver a bespoke year-round programme
encompassing sustainability and climate change education through assemblies, outdoor learning, fully resourced in-class activities with curated resources to support curriculum learning in science, PSHCE, literacy and geography as well as the climate change curriculum.
